hi all.. new to all of this,, just bought a box called the box, but theres nothing on it , i got software called gt 4.5 and downloaded it on but still nothing ... is it a dud or am i doing something wrong... please help if u can..Thanks

Have you got a live digital direct cable feed? Check you key emu is on. Press menu, type 1570 on remote and check key emu on the bottom of the CAS screen.

 

just basic cable... all that stuff you mentioned is on......... i have a starbox too and that works fine... i have no clue

 

When you say basic is it a direct cable in from the road. What general area are you from and what provider are you on?

 

yes it comes in from the road.. im in dublin ireland.............. sorry again about delay in replying.. this pc doesnt seem to like after dawn at all...lol

 

forgot to mention im on ntl........... and yes the box is set onto ntl.. thanks

 

Make sure you have "The Box" plugged into the cable in RF socket on the back of the box. Also make sure it is plugged directly into the incoming feed, take away any splitters if there are any.

What does it say for your current codes? Press menu, type 1570 on remote,you will then enter the CAS screen. Press nagravision note the key data for both key00 and key01, to alternate between key00 and key01 use the < > on the remote. Tell me what it says please.

 

ok theres not rf in.. but theres antenna in which i think is the same... and the codes read 00 98 89 2f 99 66 b8 df df
01 ce 97 58 27 7c 81 ef 28 provider i.d 54 01

 

No you need to plug it into where it says cable in and not ant as it will not work this way. If you look at the back of your Starview it will have the same two rf ports copy of that. Your codes are wrong as the box will not update them until you have plugged it into the correct rf port.

 

ok .. were getting somewhere now... but only 37 channels came in ...and still no picture.... what to do next my man

 

ok i just went to menu, factory settings and put in 1668 and did a full installand found 188 channels.. but only about 10 channels working
any more suggestions

 

Turn you key emu back on.

 

ok my friend scouser.. thats worked.. a few channels dont work but thats cool...ones called cdl hw 4001vy.. whatever they are.. thanks for your help man.. own ya a pint or 2 if ya ever come to dublin...cheers again

 

Good to hear. Dont mind those channels as they are only test channels. BTW I am in Dublin
