Mux to m2ts, not ts. Load the m2ts file in MeGUI instead of the mkv.

Ok I tried starting out with a m2ts instead of a mkv in MeGUI. Same result!

I'm totally stumped, and this is getting really frustrating. I can't figure out why I can't get a new encode to work.

No, I'm trying to reencode a video stream to be compatible with PS3. Your framerate issue I believe is unrelated.

When you mux to m2ts do you get the same issue?

I haven't tried, still muxing....after it's done I will use tsMuxer to create a Blu-ray disc (AVCHD). And then burn it as UDF using ImgBurn. I'll let you know though. :)

FYI you can test it before you burn it. There is a folder called Stream inside the BDMV foler. Inside there is a m2ts file (probably named 0001.m2ts). You can test it on your computer just to see if the audio is in sync before you use up a burned disc.

    Good luck!

Yup, I know that. Okay, now I have the m2ts and a meta file. I don't know if the meta file is needed, I'm thinking I should delete it. Anyway, I tried playing the M2TS file with Nero and it worked without audio. :(

I posted this in new thread but haven't received any help....thought I'd repost it here.....

I have successfully backed-up 5 or 6 of my BR movies onto HDD for streaming to PS3 and they work great. The easiest method is pulling straight from BR disc using tsmuxer (assuming I don't have to convert audio) then renaming to .mpg. I've come across 2 titles now which my sony reader BDU-x10s fails to read all the way through. I've tried the above mentioned as well as straight copy to HDD and they always fail at the same point partially through the process as if it's a bad disk. But the disks were brand new, tried cleaning, and no scratches. Using AnyDVD HD rip to disk is the same. I've read posts suggesting others were able to back-up these titles. Movies will play all the way through using POWER DVD. Any thoughts as to what it could be would be appriciated..................................................................... Update....If I play the moive normally with Power DVD it works fine but if I play the m2ts file directly from the BD disc using Power DVD it also abruptly terminates at the same point into the movie. Is this some kind of copyright protection? .....................Another update.....Updated firmware on Sony BDU-x10 hoping to correct issues. Didn't work. Still only able to get partial movie to HDD. Partial movie that finishes is good and streams fine to PS3 but no matter what method is used fails partially through (Live Free Or Die Hard at 39min 24 Sec). I'd be happy to give more info if someone would please try to help..............

The main movie might be on several m2ts files. When playing the movie does the time bar end abruptly across the middle or does it goe all the way to the end as if it was the end of the file.

If it is multiple m2ts files, using tsMuxeR open the corresponding MPLS file in the Playlist folder, this will append all of the neccesary files for one big one, choose your audio stream, then remux back to m2ts. Use that file to stream.

Which program do I need to use to transfer only main movie (without menues or special features) from BluRay disc to HDD?

Like I'm using DVD shrink or Nero Recode 2 to transfer main movie to HDD.

    Thanks.

You can use tsMuxeR with AnyDVDHD running in the background.

Yes, as long as the video stream is a Blu-ray compliant resolution.

No it's one big 00000.m2ts just over 32gigs. When playing the m2ts file it stops abruptly at this certain point. I'm able to do others just fine. I haven't seen a problematic list of blu-rays floating around as you have with dvds so I don't know if its some kind of trick where when played out of its normal structure it fails. Or it's a bad disc (but why does it paly fine if played normally with power dvd). Is there a way to ignore read errors? Or the blu-ray drive (a week old) is having issues reading it. I assumed it was a bad disk when it happened the first time but am doubting after two different titles both scratchless and clean.

It must be a bad rip then, I'm not sure what else it could be.

Hey guys, quick question, ive been doing mkv reencodes to m2ts for ps3, using ryu77 profile, and the quality is great, compared against the source....quick questions though....

    - ryu77 profile bitrate default is 8000, now most of my re-encodes were done at around 7000 and still look great, is 8000 just a good starting point?...im thinking if the bitrate calculator works out the bitrate to be under 8000, i may just change the bitrate to 8000 manually (for optimum quality), i dont care much about file sizes and time taken for rencodes... what do most think is a good bitrate for their movies...or does it vary???

    - is there anyway to make these movies play at 1080/24p using ps3 (without creating a blu ray structure (ie streaming).....as on my tv, 24p = much smoother picture with less motion blur:)

thaks for all the help everyone, i can nearly re=encode anything to ps3 compliant streams after all the help on these forums!

There are a lot of people on these forums (and others) that behave like little Kids and will knock Blu-ray at any chance they get (because they can't afford it yet, they feel the need to rubbish it). I personally have not come across one disc that has any problems yet. Actually Blu-ray discs are manufactured with a hard, protective coating that are more durable than regular DVD's.

The default is there as most Blu-ray movies re-encoded to fit onto a DVD-9 will be "about" 8000Kbs. Please use the bitrate calculator to work out the exact bitrate that will fit onto a DVD-9. You will need to load in your audio stream and also allow 6% for the Blu-ray headers. So target final file size should be as follows...

    DVD-5 (Single Layer): 4,210 MB
    DVD-9 (Dual Layer): 7,660 MB

I am almost certain that 24fps "True Cinema" mode will only work when the PS3 detects a BD/AVCHD disc.
