    Just checking on this, I know that you do a lot of research and have lots of knowledge but does the E6400 come with 4MB shared cache? I thought it was the E6600. Just learning here. :)

    Rob the card I think that aabbccdd is referring to is the BFG nVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT OC from newegg.com. It's the one that they (aabbccdd, Mort81, & Lp531) recommended that I purchase. Dang good card for my needs. I don't game that much and the ones that I play now are 1-3 years old so the new high powered stuff ain't needed. lol.

    That is one of the single best pieces of advice I've heard from anyone. I've heard it from more than aabbccdd but he's dead on here cincyrob. You spend a couple of extra bucks now and you save possibly $100's later. :)Trust me on this one, I LEARNED THE HARD WAY!

    These guys will help you do the right thing and if you have any questions you can always get in touch with the doc, you know he gets off on this kind of thing. LOL. :)

    ....gm

    link to BFG video card

    The 6400 does not have 4mb L2 cache. 6600 up does. The 6400 will be upgraded to 4mb cach in Q2 but it will be called E6420. I would still spend a little more and go with the 6400 over the 6300 or wait for the 6420.

    dash34,

    I can't remember the name of the software for Nvidia. I'm running a Sapphire ATI Radeon X850XT Platinum edition right now and use ATI Tool to control the fan speed on it. I'll find out the software for Nvidia and get back.

    @ aabbccdd

    mobo is mounted on right side...I left a link above.

    As for the video cards yes they may run hot, but I had those in a mid case [link above] and that case was full! crazy full and my temps still ran at 29-31.

    @ Lp531

    Yes... the bios is going to be changed soon- that and Ill take a look at the position of my fan and CPU.

    @cincyrob

    Had to laugh at your comment about asking things over and over... I am the king at that, things can change minute by minute- when it comes to building a PC...I have tormented a few here at AD, but their a bunch of good people and I have much to be thankful for

    AD ROCKS....

    Rob,

    Any intel P4 prescott core will run hot. Look for a northwood core.
