Alright sounds like the Rampage mobo is gonna be the best bet for me. I think im going to stick with the asus video card because even though customer service may not be as good, according to their websites Asus has a 3 year warranty and the sapphire only has 2. Both say to contact the reseller so in this case wouldnt i be dealing with neweggs customer service anyway?

Hearing nothing bad about the case so ima stick with that.

~$200 Monitor- Still wanna look in store for this one.

~$1486 total with $95 in mail in rebates to get back. still fine on price.

thanks for info everyone, very nice to have a support community like this :D well its looking closer and closer to being complete just a couple more things to fine tune. Most importantly the hsf.

    EDIT:
    Oh yea and
    @ LOCO

Will that HS fir on the Rampage? i was reading that theres not a lot of room for a HS surrounding the processor on that mobo. Also, its advertised as use any fan you want and itll stay cool no matter what, but thats advertising... any word on this and/or fan recommendations if needed?

yeah i should have, i could build it but if theres problems i wouldn't know what to do ,thats why i have a shop do it. if i built a few machines here and there i would feel more comfortable doing it but i don't

    Xevlys,

you shouldn't have any cpu hsf clearance problems with the rampage formula. I'm using a thermalright ultra 120 extreme, one of the largest cpu hsf's out there, on my rampage formula with room to spare. even my corsair dominator memory, which is about 1/2 again taller than standard memory, fit in the #1 dimm slot (closest one to the hsf) with ease and room to spare.

what choices are you considering for a cpu hsf? I would consider a TR U120E as it is a better cpu hsf than the tuniq tower anyway.

which way did they mount the HSF, and i know quite a few fourm members with both a tuniq and a rampage, and no problems.

    bigwill,

only problem with microcenter is they charge tax and by the time you add that on it is almost as much as what you can get a Q9450 at newegg for. I know cause I almost bought a Q9450 at microcenter but after I saw the tax, I backed out.

    @mort81

sorry to hear that..i was just trying to compare the prices between the too..to see how he would come out ahead on the pricing part..of the cpu tax is different in different states and countrys unless your tax exempted..

    @Xevlys
it's your choose on the heat sink we all have recommed good choices in are own likes, cooling rates,dBA and Cfm that we have studied on..

morts choice is great but you have to buy a fan seperate from the unit and it clear the case like he saids but to find one with a low dBA enough Cfm won't be hard to do ..Led or Plain don't forget to count the blades also..lol..i won't want loud cpu fan nor any fan on my case all fans are interchangable..thermalright ultra-120 cpu cooling heatsink cost $59.99 newegg price

now shaffaaf choice was a good choice also but in the specs it did'nt show no Air Flow cfm or no noise level dba.. you don't know what your getting in fan Quality there me i like the heat sink and the spec on it but not the fan in it have to come out of there..and be replaced..that's extra money and plus abuzar1 said it did'nt have a rebate (Bro)..lol had to mess with you abuzar1..:)

now the tuniq tower 120 p4 & k8 cpu cooler - Retail $49.99 newegg price..

now i know i'm about get shot down..lol..i don't have a rebate either..abuzar1..lol but my specs speak for them self for the same price and little than first and the second one..i wont have run with the:Cooler Master rr-cch-lb12-GP 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler - Retail for $42.99
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103040

the rpm's are the same as the tuniq maybe if you can push it..lol overclock your fan that's a good 1..

sorry guys if i stepped on anybody's feet..

    lol

I meant that the regular Tuniq Tower and the LED versions are the same price. There is no rebate to make the LED version cheaper, it's the same price as the regular version.

I can't guarantee that the tuniq tower will clear everything on the mobo, it is huge. however I can guarantee the TR U120, or U120E will fit as long as there is room in the case.

On the video card and warranty issue...the Visiontek has a Lifetime Warranty on the HD4850 cards...so that is what I went with...
To my knowledge they are the only ones offering a Lifetime Warranty...

Maybe on the ATI side of things. I used to think lifetime warranties were pretty common on video cards. I know XFX, and EVGA have them. MSI has two years parts and Labour, but the third year is parts only. Diamond is only one year.

I have owned several ATI cards, and I personally prefer MSI.

OK! everyones been a great help with suggestions and im really glad i came here for support :D
I think im about ready to say...

    FINAL build!: (I think...).

    $330 CPU- Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450
    http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16819115042

    $280 Mobo- Asus Rampage Formula
    http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16813131284

    $136 RAM- Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) 1066 w/ $40 mail in rebate
    http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820145197

    $195 GPU- Asus EAH4850/HTDI/512M Radeon HD 4850 w/ $30 mail in rebate
    http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16814121253

    $80 HDD- Western didgital 500 GB SE16 WD5000AAKS
    http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16822136073

$70 Case- Cooler Master 590 (I think im going to stick with this one, Tempest looks ugly imo >.< )
    http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16811119152

    $31 ODD- Pioneer 215DBK
    http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16827129020

    $24 ODD- NEC 7200S
    http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16827118012

$140 PSU- Corsair 620W HX w/ $25 mail in rebate
    http://www.buy.com/prod/corsair-620w-sli-certified-modular-atx-power-supply/q/loc/101/203270718.html

$50 HSF- Tuniq Tower (chose this because TR U120E is out of stock and bit more expensive with no fan)
    http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16835154001

~$200 Monitor- Still wanna look in store for this one.

~$1536 total with $95 in mail in rebates to get back. still fine on price

The reason i didnt go with the more expensive choices on things like HSF and case or ODD drives like abuzar suggested because my uncle is paying for it is because hes only paying part(most) of it and id like to save some of my own money lol... I think what ive got listed there should be good quality and sufficient for what i need so I'm happy with it.

Also, i decided to stick with the Asus HD 4850 because well, for one im too excited to keep changing out parts and im bout ready to buy it lol... and two i think if it breaks after 3 years id probably just consider upgrading it again anyway it should be fine.

Also, im still a bit curious regarding the warraties. As i mentioned before on both the Asus and Sapphire websiters(havent checked others) it says to contact the reseller for warranty issues. Does that mean i would be dealing with newegg for the manufactureer's warranties?

THANKS again to everyone here you all helped a ton. Unless anything jumps out at someone i think im gonna email my uncle and start ordering some of these parts :D
