Console games are ALWAYS expensive, no matter where you are - newly released games are usually £35 - £40 over here, which is only really a little below $60.

Speaking of console games; Uncharted 2 is amazing, just finished the single player story - easily one of the best games I've ever played. If you have a PS3 you'd be absolutely mad not to buy it...

The standard retail price for console games is £35 if you're lucky ($55) usually £40-£50 ($65-$81)

No, the 4870 and 5770 are almost the same. The 5770 is just the newer lower-power version.

Depends on the price. Probably the 5770 if it was the same price, but as far as I can see the 4870 is currently a bit cheaper.

Hi Sam, yes I knew guitar hero was a game - but that really looks like a real guitar, lol.
loving OF2. its like an uber real version of cod4!
Another reference to Cod4! What the hell is OF2? Google produces nothing. What game are you talking about, fool? :p

Hmmm. Good information. I currently do not have a lighted keyboard. But I will be getting one when I build the new rig, so I will finally be able to play without that little overhead 12 volt light (I'm in my trailer) illuminating the keyboard. Haha - a few friends of yours hate the game - well like you say that certainly proves that not everybody is a hardcore shooter - (myself, I think I re-incarnated after being killed in WWII as a U.S. paratrooper, lol.)

Myself, I was using Windex, until I glanced through a Cyberguys catalog and spotted this stuff called PUROSOL.

Another great review by Estuansis, Arkham Asylum.

Haha. Wow, what a two-timer you are. I thought you were in love with that Final Fantasy chick!

I kind of like Batman - not sure whether you could call me a fan. But I did get the two Max Payne games and I have to say I did enjoy them - so Jeff's review of this Arkham Asylum has me thinking I might try it one day.

Wow, color me a confused puppy. Everytime you were talking about the 360 controller for Dragon Rising, Jeff, I thought you were somehow flipping over to the xbox 360 version of the game and playing on your sister's HDTV.

Help me out guys. When I get confused I get REALLY CONFUSED. Are you guys saying that I can buy a 360 controller and plug it into the game port of my PC? (Do I have a game port? Does the thing have a USB plug? What do the controllers cost? - Oh - $50?? - not bad. Is that how I can get the force feedback of firing a rifle - playing ON THE PC?)

    confused Rich

From what I understand, Xbox controllers and PC's basically speak the same language, and the PC just knows exactly what to do with it. Games that are ported from the Xbox, recognize it immediately. VERY NICE! Yes they are USB connectors :)

Thanks for the Purosol tidbit Rich. VERY appreciated! :D

I used my wired 360 controller for a bit with Dragon Rising, but I have to say mouse and keyboard suit it much better.

Oh, and OF2 is Dragon Rising (full title is Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising).

From vista onwards, plug an Xbox 360 controller into a PC and that's it - it's ready to go - since a lot of games are directly compatible with 360 pads these days it's literally a case of plug and play.

Well...I just experienced something rather disconcerting! I loaded Project64(Nintendo 64 emulator), loaded Super mario 64, and low and behold...my game data is gone. Not misplaced, not missing just GONE! I don't know what could have happened here. I just played about a week ago and everything was fine. I don't make a habit of messing in the system folders, though im somewhat confident in doing so. The emulator reports it can't find a certain .PJ or .ZIP file containing the relevant data. The only thing remotely close is a super mario.eep file. I have no idea what that is. This makes me rather nervous, since i've been experiencing other little things. Like the windows indexing service. It'll index an entire folder, and a couple days later, it has to re-index the data!

Anybody else deal with either of these issues? I have picture folders on one of my storage drives, and they have upwards of 1000 pics in them. I reference them semi regularly, and its rather irritating when it has to re-index when im in a hurry. Sure wish I had an SSD drive now :p

Just noticed something interesting though. One of the files in the Project 64 system folder is associating with Gom player! A .dat file. I wonder if that could have something to do with it. I just installed Gom player after playing with the emulator recently. Its a good a guess as any I suppose! But from now on, i'll not be trusting the emulator alone. Im gonna save to zip file as well. Cause I believe its the PJ file thats missing...really weird.

Anybody remember the first bad ass thing they saw on a 3D platform? I do LOL! This very black pool! One of the coolest things I saw up to that point. I think the water on GTA IV is probably the most modern cool thing i've seen. I imagine that'll be replaced rapidly though LOL! I plan on picking up a few more games before too long. Perhaps that arkham asylum that Jeff was talking about ;)

LOL I thought the water in GTA4 looked like absolute crap. If you want a game with good water play Crysis. Some of the most realistic water I've seen. Hell, even the original Half-Life 2 had(and still has) great water. GTA 4's water makes me puke. Sure it looks pretty when you're IN it. But from far away it looks like one giant glassy smooth reflection. It moves up and down a bit but not so much as a ripple or wave or anything, just a wavy mirror. Who knows maybe the copy I have is screwed up? Does anyone else see this or am I the only one?? Mind you this isn't just a smooth surface, it's a smooth surface that looks super FAKE.

Super Mario 64 is awesome though. I still play it on Project 64 occasionally. BTW you should get Arkham Asylum. Amazing game :)

LOL! I've talked to two friends today about Arkham Asylum. They play it on the PS3. They seem to like it quite a bit! Believe me, its FOREMOST on my mind LOL! :D Money is a serious issue right now. Im trying to find an online scheme for making money...OTHER than ebay! I just can't see myself selling on ebay.
