Rivatuner, Everest. I'm sure there are others, but those are what I use. Possibly GPU-Z as well. Though I'm not certain on that one.

    Whoops, I spoke up...

GPU-Z will do it, as will Everest. GPU-Z offers more detailed info about your graphics card, and can also graph and log it.

Nope. Not sure where you got it from but it's clean in itself. Download it from a reputable site.

Funny. I downloaded it from this webiste (afterdawn). But anyway, I just ignored the virus notifier coz I know the program is clean.

Sam, or anyone. Please explain to me why the Geforce 210 is so weak. If integrated graphics can beat it, then it has no business being named a series beyond even 9XXX series. A person should be able to go into a store or online and look at a series, and believe that 275 is better than 260, and 295 is better than 275, and 210 is better than ANY predecessor! If not, than that's complete BS! If the 210 is as weak as both Sam and Estuansis say it is, than Nvidia really needs to go down the Shi**er LOL!

What do you automatically think is more powerful. A 3.1 Liter engine, Or a 3.8 Liter? There is virtually ZERO difference here, if you understand me. A Geforce 210 should be better in almost every respect, than any 9XXX series card. I'm not saying I don't believe you guys, I'm actually siding with you. Nvidia should be ashamed!

it has the same number of cores as the 8500GT AT 16, same as the 9400GT and therefore same as the Ion GPU found in netbooks and nettops. Its designed for HTPCs and NOT gaming, though looking at this thread you would think otherwise. It shouldn't be talked about for gaming as its purpose is not for that. As for 1080p playback its perfect.

Thanks buddy, that's exactly what I want then. If it can even take a slight load of the CPU for BD playback, then its worth it. Sure not noticing it in XP though. Perhaps windows 7 will right everything ;)

A few more recent game requirement charts
(Note1: Multi-GPU requirements are based on default 80% scaling and not real performance evaluation. In reality, SLI and Crossfire configurations listed may not perform to the standards set)
(Note2: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky tests are extrapolated from data recorded at 1280x1024. Resolutions higher than this may require additional graphics memory, especially when combined with Anti-Aliasing)
(Note3: Aliens vs. Predator and Shattered Horizon do not appear to use Anti-Aliasing at present. If this feature is added, requirements for presets at 'Good' and above will increase)
(Note4: The 'Extreme' preset has not been included as it is not realistic for any of the titles tested using currently available hardware)

Aliens Vs. Predator (AA not inclusive)
    DirectX9

Minimal: Radeon HD2900 Pro/HD4670/HD3800 series/HD4700 series or above, Geforce GT220/8800 series/9600 series or above
Reduced: Radeon HD4750/HD4800 series or above, Geforce 9600GT, 8800GT, GT240 or above
Moderate: Radeon HD4890/HD5800 series or above, Geforce GTX260 or above
Good: Radeon HD5870 or above, Geforce GTX285 or above
Optimal: Radeon HD5970 or above, Geforce GTX295 or above

    DirectX11
Minimal: Radeon HD5570/HD5600 series or above
Reduced: Radeon HD5700 series or above
Moderate: Radeon HD5800 series or above
    Good: Radeon HD5850 or above
    Optimal: Radeon HD5970 or above

    Shattered Horizon (AA not inclusive)
Minimal: Radeon HD4750/HD4800 series/HD5700 series or above, Geforce 8800GT/9800GT/GTS250 or above
Reduced: Radeon HD4890/HD5800 series or above, Geforce GTX275/GTX285 or above
Moderate: Radeon HD4890 Crossfire/HD5970 or above, Geforce GTX275/285 SLI or above
Good: Radeon HD5870 Crossfire or above, Geforce GTX295 QuadSLI or above
Optimal: Radeon HD5970 Quad Crossfire or above

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat (AA requirements used) (Unsure of Tesselation testing)
    DirectX10:

Minimal: Radeon HD3690/HD4600 series/HD5500 series or above, Geforce 8600GT/9500GT/9600 series or above/GT220 or above
Reduced: Radeon HD5570/HD3800 series/HD4700 series or above, Geforce 8800 series/9600GSO (G92) or above/GT240 or above
Moderate: Radeon HD4770/HD4850/HD5750 or above, Geforce 8800GTS G92/9800GTX or above, GTS250 or above
Good: Radeon HD5970 or above, GTX275/280 Tri-SLI or above
Optimal: Radeon HD5870 Crossfire or above, GTX285 QuadSLI

    DirectX11:
    Minimal: Radeon HD5570 or above
    Reduced: Radeon HD5670 or above
    Moderate: Radeon HD5750 or above
    Good: Radeon HD5870 or above
Optimal: Radeon HD5850 Tri-CF or above

As for CPU requirements, actual test data is not available, however a Core 2 Quad Q9400/Phenom II X4 940 at stock clocks should be able to achieve at least the following results, likely much higher (no CPU boundaries were hit in testing any of the titles)
Aliens vs. Predator: Minimum 40fps (Good preset)
Shattered Horizon: Minimum 20fps (Reduced preset)
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call Of Pripyat: Minimum 43fps (Good preset)

Played GTA IV last night for the first time in a very long time. At first, it was showing 35Frames/s, and I was like WHAT! But it seemed to adapt almost immediately. For within a minute it was upwards of 45-55 Frames. I even saw it hitting 60 for a while. I believe the 965 Deneb is showing off its skills once again LOL!
Poor GPU was running pretty warm though. I closed it down after a while, and it was running around 73C. Which is rather warm in my opinion. But I wasn't running evga precision at the time. Now I can ;) I'll be trying arkham asylum pretty soon too :D

Seeing the 5870 in the "moderate" and "good" category is unsettling. For 400$ you'd expect something more (imo).

Come to think of it I will have to try GTA4 again since the i5 upgrade. However, beyond a certain point I think it's still graphics limited. Of course, the faster the CPU you use, up until the CPU is no longer a bottleneck, the harder the graphics card works, so that explains the temperatures. 73C is pretty cool for a graphics card really, doesn't sound like it was doing much work at all.

Shaff: Indeed they don't, what I usually do is compare the percentage drop in frame rate from a few different cards with the percentage rise in pixel count, then apply that to the cards in question. You can never be 100% accurate with any website test data as there is no website that tests stuff perfectly out there at the moment.
Maw: This isn't that the HD5870 is bad, this is a reflection of how current games are in terms of demand. Not a good precedent I agree.

I have mentioned the criteria before, but here they are again. This is always maximum detail since benchmark websites almost never test level of detail.

    Minimal: 10fps minimum at 1024x768
    Reduced: 20fps minimum at 1024x768
    Moderate: 30fps minimum at 1280x1024
    Good: 40fps minimum at 1680x1050, 2xAA
    Optimal: 50fps minimum at 1920x1200, 4xAA
    Extreme: 60fps minimum at 2560x1600, 8xAA

    http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=7440

HD5830 due for release in a few days by the looks. As expected, it's a derivative of the HD5870, not the HD5850, with high clock speeds (above that of the 5870) but only 70% of the shaders, versus the 5850's 90%. This results in power consumption 2/3 between the HD5850 and HD5870, so quite high, but rough performance 2/3 to 3/4 between the HD4890 and HD5850. Price is probably going to be around the $250 / £190 mark to start with.

I'm quite liking the new version of afterdawn
    http://forums.v4.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/223/677037
However, it does not scale with resolution. That's a big bummer for me.

I actually prefer the older version, less harsh on my tired eyes lol. What really bothers me is the new notification system, the link in the email doesn't show up for me and that's really annoying.

The Hyper link is screwed up in my email. It shows "Http:///??2". Looks like more than just a typo. More like some kind of automation error LOL!

I get links, but they are 404s. That needs sorting pretty sharpish

They should have left it. The new notifications are not low bandwidth friendly either and I just get a blue line that says "LINK".

Why change something the was flawless to begin with>
