I was going to suggest something like that it looks like it fits in snug, good job... That is exactly what I would have done too. Stevo
He's recommended my doing that in the past. Haven't got around to it. When I get a new motherboard, I'll likely play with my current more. The real task will be finding a suitable case, with excellent cooling options, and be the most affordable
Anyone have any feedback on this CM Case? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...x-_-CasesComputerCasesATXForm-_-11119240-LM1A Any thoughts would be most appreciated. Best Regards. Russ
Not bad, I hope the optional top fan mount includes spacing for 120/140mm fans too, as 200mm fans to buy aren't usually that cheap, or effective. It's not so bad when they include them with the case
i do not have this CM case. Just wanted to say the toolless design of some of their expansion bays seems to be getting cheaper. also how i always regret the few times i purchased cases with doors. these are just opinions, i would still purchase cm cases cuz i wouldnt buy too cheap a case and no need for a designer case 2x the price
Sam, I also looked at the HAF 912 and the Storm 2000, as someone told me they were almost the same case. Not when it comes to fan's they aren't. The top can be configured for 1 200mm or 2 120mm fans. The Storm 1000 also come with 3 fans, not 2 like the other two cases. Yes, the 200mm fans are a bit pricey but move a heck of a lot of air quietly at 700 to 800 RPM usually. They don't cost more than the Scythe fans I've been using. Thanks for your input, Russ
Deadrum33, I like the door because it keeps dust away from the ODDs. It's just a thought but I am planning some changes in the not too distant future. I'm thinking this way. Should run my 1090T BE pretty good! Thanks for the feedback, Russ
Deadrum33, I've had a few people tell me to get the HAF 912 or the Storm 2000, but they all come with two fans, and the Storm 1000 has more airflow. I like the door because it keeps dust away from the ODDs. It's just a thought but I am planning some changes in the not too distant future. I'm thinking this way. No, the storm 1000 only comes with two fans, but spaces for three. The top fan is not included, according to the newegg page.
well i got my old system back to slap in a GA-P35-DS3R man this system has been treated bad!!!!! so damn irty im suprised it lasted this long. here are some pics of it before i cleaned it out not only was the MOBO Fried but the PSU was as well. and the coolermaster 212 cooler i had on it was toast as well. well the fan was anyway. its not OC'd any so i put the only cooler i had back on it. stock intel fan. http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i196/Cincrob/2011-08-16084806.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i196/Cincrob/2011-08-16084613.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i196/Cincrob/2011-08-16084937.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i196/Cincrob/2011-08-16102319.jpg after some cleaning http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i196/Cincrob/2011-08-16090357.jpg http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i196/Cincrob/2011-08-16090346.jpg
LOL! That's exactly what I was thinking! Must have been a smoker. I'm a smoker, but I don't smoke near my equipment. I used to. Amazing that system still works!
yep he is a smoker. i didnt even bring it in the house to it straight to my work shed. and cleaned it up some out there then brought it in to put it all back together.. running fine now.. for another year until he burns it up again with no air to it....
I recently removed the 3 opticals (ie all of them) from my Antec 900 and put in a 3rd drive cage to hold extra hard drives. Don't do much DVD burning anymore but the odd time that i do i have various external opticals. It was just a waste having 3 drive bays taken up by opticals, no room on the desk to upgrade to a bigger case ie Antec 1200 or similar, dust/mainly cat hair is bad enough with all the fans going out of their way to suck in all the crud, never mind the thought of the case being down on the floor.
Sam, My bad I didn't notice the word optional in there. I would get the 2 120mm fans in favor of the 200mm single. It would cost about the same, and move just about as much air. Russ
Both the side and top 230mm fans on my 932 were replaced with a total of six 120s, so that should say where I stand
Are 6 120's quiet enough for you? Let's say that all of them were running at 800Rpms. Is that pretty quiet? And probably moving more air than the 230's
