I must admit, I'm becoming acutely more aware of the benefits of good senses, co-ordination and health. Over the last couple of years I've had routine back problems including sciatica, and today in particular I have a blocked ear leaving me almost deaf on one side until it clears. You only realise just how much you rely on good health when it is taken from you, so I know how hard it must be with that realisation Russ.
Here's hoping that's the last of the major ailments you'll suffer for a long time :)

I believe the word "Troll" has been mutated to the point of insult. I meant no offense.

Overall these mods don't introduce a very big performance hit. I average 47 in the benchmark with maxed settings vs say 50 without the mods. Turning off streaming textures helps a LOT. Remember I'm still limited to 1GB of video RAM as well even with 2 x 1GB cards so the hit can't be very big.

What I mean is that if you try to save it with known file extensions hidden, it can save as filename.cfg.txt but the .txt is hidden. Otherwise you are exactly right.

I'll give credit for creation of those mods to their respective authors, but yep I do have a knack for putting them together the right way :p

Guess I'll have to play some more and get you some screens, lol. The alien ship and the ice levels are pretty fantastic.

    Haha. Great graphic!!

(I actually wasnt fully aware - Ive read a little about the company, not too much - but the slogan is what was printed on that car that passed me, lol.)
    Did I say, great graphic!!

Hmmm. Is that true in all cases? I know that with stereo, they have developed things to the point that by adjusting the wave guide - or through a sort of echo effect - they can simulate surround sound. Mostly what I was after initially was to figure out where the guys were coming from in Counter Strike - which side of the wall they were on - that type of thing. The quality has always seemed good - but I dont use headphones for music.

There is a new 5.1, quite pricey, where the speakers are on top of your head, and an actual air guide goes down to the various positions on the ear. The reviewer said he turned around in his chair when something came from behind him - the effect was so good. You guys have probably heard of them.

No Best Buy in the UK? Well, guys, just go to the klipsch web site - www.klipsch.com, and press the computer speaker link, and there they will be in full glory. Until admin shows mercy, I am unable to post the picture.

It says available only from Klipsch.com, or from Best Buy. Free shipping. But shipping to England, I doubt it. Of course we lucky guys here in the crown colony could put a box in the mail, I suppose.

Well, okay. I dont have your new great speed, but I get 12Mb/sec download, however only about 0.8Mb/sec upload, so I figure it would take about 2 solid days to upload the full fantastic 17 gig library. But Ill do it if anybody here is interested. Let me know and we'll do some kind of email with your afterdawn ftp folder username and password so you can DL.

I have a few forum email addresses already.

I just had to take out the links and pictures to reply to Sam, so I really should fix this with admin. I'll see you guys later today, when I read the rest of the posts, starting with Russ.

DDP - you're the greatest!! Haha.

Later I'm gonna try again to get you to not only help out, like this, (not to mention keep Shaff honest) but also to post some pics of those fantastic warship models - Jeff gave us one picture of his robots, but you're holding out, lol.

I believe there's a limit on newbie's. They need to post 20 times or something. Been a while, don't remember.

Well, then, do you own a camera or a cell phone? Anybody who can go from newb to addict in 4 months has a keyboard, that's for sure. Come on DDP, give it up. Some warship kit model pictures. LOL

    Thanks for the other link.

I just cried to ketola in a private message, but I guess I could wait until I get past the 25 posts limit if I had to. At least that lets me know there is some kind of a light at the end of this "no pics, no links" tunnel.

I remember Gold Star making the worst TV's in the day. They brought NTSC to a whole new ugliness. It perpetuated the acronym, "NTSC" (National Television System Committee) to a new level of garbage which gave, "Never The Same Color" a true meaning.

I admit I own a 27" LG PC monitor. Much improved over the early days.
