When the HX is stressed, the fan gets loud. Since the fan isn't getting loud, and the air coming out the back is cool, I'm not unduly concerned.
wow, but hell, normally people wlll get much higher PSU for an OCed System with a monster like X2 in it. Impressed! I rather get ZM850-HP than TX750 since it's quieter and modular and much more future proof
if you want silence, get a 120.3 for your 4870x2, and some extremely silent fans, witha fan controller.
Water cooling = much expense, and can go horribly wrong very easily. I'd throw some caution onto that one.
More than that, sadly. You need to know how to deal with the unexpected - pump tops cracking and leaking or shorting out your power supply (as happens to a large proportion of Laing pumps), Drain plugs leaking, ill fitting clips/barbs, Algae appearing in your blocks even with Anti-Algae fluid, and so on and so forth. In case you're wondering, these are all problems I've seen my mate Nick encounter first hand.
This is with well-researched, supposedly good quality parts. Problems with Watercooling are generally unavoidable, there's only so much you can do to prevent them.
Just get a Corsair 750TX. Your PC wont be quiet anyway and the Corsair wont be LOUD. There is no point in getting a quiter power supply because the rest of your computer will be louder anyway.
Now i don't know what to get...I don't want lot of noise from my pc and that means i'll need to buy an expensive PSU, but if i chose cheaper psu it will be noiser than the expensive one. I think i'll fork out money and get a PSU that is future proof and quiet, Zalman ZM850-HP hands down!
The Corsair VX units are pretty good for noise. But the HX is the best and the TX is somewhat loud. If it's available or even in budget, I'd almost recommend a 620HX instead. They're modular, quiet, and powerful. You'd have a very hard time overloading a 620HX.
yes i know and i will have a very hard time installing CF HD4870, because there is not enough PCI-E 8pin connectors
You can use an adapter, they come with the cards. The 620HX has the amperage to power both cards along with multiple drives just fine. I bought mine specifically with Crossfire in mind.
you need 6 pin not 8 pin and yes there are not enough, which is sad becuase the enermax 625W modu82+ does have 4. can you get enermax in SA?
@spamual yes I can, BUT there is noway in hell i'll buy enermax, the 620w is basically the same price as ZM850-HP @Estuansis really? the card comes with cables/adapters? how do you connect them then? Is it possible to show me some pics of it... thanks
