Unique Man i just noticed something on my graphics card, It has a TV Out thing.

Does that mean I don't have to buy a TV card?

Also I have seen a three way splitter and Coaxial cable i could get off ebay, Is it possible to use my graphics card?

    I have just purchased this

What sort of coaxial cable will go in this? male 2 male? male 2 female?

And is it the right thing?

"This is a UNIVERSAL 1 into 3 SIGNAL SPLITTER for use on CABLE TV or SATELLITE TV"

"This unit will allow you to split an incoming signal into 3 signals, therefore allowing you to use 3 receivers on one line of cable"

I just bought it looked right lol

    @J-Kwon

That splittier should work and yes, you may be able to use your video card as a TV. WHat kind is it? Do you have the book to it or a link where I can read up on it? Sounds like maybe an ATI card.

No, that won't work. That video card has two monitor connections and an S-Video connection. Nowhere for cable TV outlet to be plugged in. Sorry. You will need a TV card for your setup to work (i.e. Hauppage).

Looks good but where is the PC in the drawing? What you are trying to do will work as long as your antenna has a cable connection.

Splice it from there, like your drawing, and use the three connections to supply up to three devices and it should work fine.

My only suggestion is that if you have a cable connection in your house (regular, wall outlet type) use that, attach the splicer and carry on as your picture indicates.

Have you purchased the card yet?

Heres the specs at on I was looking at

    Cable in

    Line out

    Video in

    Line in

    IR Socket

So whats the TV Out for on my graphics card?

Whta's the model number of the Hauppage card you're looking at on eBay?

I have that same exact card on one of my PCs. Great card by the way. That TV Out is not a cable connection. It was intended to have the capability of hooking up a TV as a monitor.

This is a quote from a website that will explain that a lot more indepth along with some other things that may help you.
[bold]Note:[/bold]TV-Out only means that there is a Video signal coming from this pin, that can be connected to your TV. This is an entirely different signal than the signal needed for the antenna connector on your TV!

Ye I have this comp in a seperate room to where the one in my spec is, so I can hardly remember, What I put in it, Yep It's a nice card (I use DVI with it) But i don't use this comp for gaming so i haven't overworked it yet :p

uniique1, It doesn't say the model number, lol I'm probably going to get one for a £20ish, then if that works I will invest in a better quality one £100+

Basically I want a simple WinTV one to start then I'll upgrade once I have everything else :p

UNI That splitter holes were two small for the coaxial cables (1.5m and 3m)

    Could I just buy a Y splitter?

I just found out that splitter was for sharing sky around the home :p

A 2 way would work, yes. But you won't be able to supply the devices in your pic and the PC.
