    looks like maybe a firewall problem. try allowing flash fxp/disabling your firewall, and see what happens

    go into your windows firewall settings and allow it in there. you can find these if you go into control panel, then security center. also, when you install flash fxp, it should offer to enter it automatically into the firewall, you should tick that box.

    hey oman, Just a question, i kinda new with all this but when you copy copy the games from you xbox to pc with the crossover cable, does it count as downloading to your computer? Its just i only have 700mb A month and i dont want to go over it!

    no, it would not count. seeing as you are not using your internet service in doing this, you are simply connecting 2 computers so to speak, and transferring data-that is not downloading, so even if your ISP did know that this was going on, it would not count towards your 700mb/month download limit (which, i might add, is pretty stupid to have-you should consider changing your ISP).

    oh and i also just found this out
    if i go to the system menu and select the 'use original microsoft dash for time and day, dispaly saettings etc.' option, it loads up to old dash(which i thought i had accidently deleted) and the ethernet plug lights up green, and says cable connected. as soon as i go back to the custom dash, it goes away. this happened in both evolutionX and avalaunch

    looks like maybe your ethernet port is disabled when you are in the custom dash...try using normal internet instead of crossover cable, see if the port at least lights up. if not, it is probably disabled somewhere. look through your settings and see if there is something disabled where it shouldn't be, or maybe even re-install evoX

    LOL it wasnt crossover? well that may be part of it...LOL

    anyways i was only suggesting you try with straight-through cable just to see if it would light up-when youre FTP'ing, always use crossover

    Ok, hello, i am having a problem with this whole FTP shizzle. I have read countless tuts and I dont know what to do. Look :

    WinSock 2.0 -- OpenSSL 0.9.8b 04 May 2006
    [R] Connecting to 192.168.0.100 -> IP=192.168.0.100 PORT=21
    [R] Connection failed (No route to Host)
    [R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #1
    [R] Connecting to 192.168.0.100 -> IP=192.168.0.100 PORT=21 (attempt # 1)
    [R] Connection failed (No route to Host)
    [R] Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #2
    [R] Connecting to 192.168.0.100 -> IP=192.168.0.100 PORT=21 (attempt # 2)

    I am getting this from FlashFXP. I have a couple of questions, is it ok if your local area network says tahts its unpluged? And I think , THINK, my problem is the cable. How do I distinguish which is which.

    yes, you have a problem with your cable. a big one, seeing as it says local area connection is unplugged-it should only say that when the xbox is OFF. you need to go and buy an approx. $15 crossover cable and use that. make sure it is a crossover cable, not a CAT5, and also, i do hope that you are trying this with your xbox ON-these are elementary mistakes LOL

    it looks almost identical to a normal ethernet/CAT5 cable. the only way you would distinguish it between an ethernet cable would be to look at the package in the store. it should say "crossover" or "crossed". unless you have the kind of access to the wire that you can look inside at the colours, just read the labels.
