make sure you have copy'd the rt2500usb.sys) to (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers). I think you haven't done this and this is why it can't find the file.

 

Hi, I'm new here and I've been trying to do this setup last night for hours and I need help.

I followed kc's advice and I need some questions answered.

First, how do I set up a wireless internet connection? The only thing wireless I have is my Nintendo WiFi USB Connector.

I tried to install the Buffalo driver (YR-G54 or whatever) and I get an error after installing it. It says "This device cannot start. Code 10"

What should I do?

 

not sure what your problem is but I think you have the nintendo drivers installed and they need to be uninstalled

 

Alright, I'm trying to do step 8 but I don't have 'Wireless Network Connection' showing in my Network Connections. I really don't know how to create one. (Yes, call me stupid...)

I still get this 'Code 10' error when I try re-installing that Buffalo driver through the "Add New Hardware" option.

Yes, the nintendo drivers are now uninstalled.

 

Do another search for any remaining nintendo files and delete, then reboot
Now I suggest to just start over for all the time it will take. You shouldn't have to go into "Add New Hardware" option as windows will do this and after step 5 it will already be installed. Just make sure you copy the files to the right place and overwrite the existing files. I'm sure you should be able to get this to work now.
Depending what your hooking up I can give you a custom setup that will work with everything, DS,PSP,Laptop, etc...

I'm starting over since I don't know what I did wrong on my first try on this.

I'm doing this to hook up my DS and PSP is all.

EDIT: OK, I'm a little stuck here. On step 2, where do I put the driver files in? In the system32 drivers folder? If so, I did it and after I click on the ASUS WLAN Control Center in the Start menu, it gives me a message saying "Unable to connect to Wireless lan card. The tray icon will be loaded once the card is inserted."

 

Aren't I supposed to do that at a later step though instead of straight away?

 

Do you have it enabled under device manager?

 

Yes, it's enabled and it still has the "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" message...

 

Have you finished all the steps before trying? If not do this first or if you have make a video and post a link to it so I can follow along and figure out your problem.(ZD soft screen recorder)

 

Alright! Looks like I managed to solve this problem on my own! I did the beginning steps my own way this time.

I'm almost done now. All I need to know is why my DS won't connect? I'm checking my event log and every time I try to connect, it says "STA (MAC Address) associated" and then when it fails it then says "STA (MAC Address) left this BSS"

What does this mean?

 

I too am getting IP address errors and would like specific details on how to fix it if possible. By that I mean which IP addresses should I fiddle with and such. I am so close to getting this to work it's becoming annoying...

 

Never Mind! All I did was follow the steps afterward while using auto-obtain. Works like a charm and thank you!

hey when i try to do the part where u use the asus configuration and click softap and un-tick enable ics, and then i click apply and it gives me an error message saying something about how the driver could not be installed to the system. anyone kno wuts going on?

 

Make sure you've copyed the driver to the right spot as in steps 3 and 5. I'll pm you the custom settings once you have this figured out
