    Hey,

I'm really new to all of this, i looked through a lot of posts, but the problem i kept on having was, every time i had to enter my IP adress in IE or any web-browser, i kept on getting a different site than the one they said i had to get. my IP idress is 192.168.2.1 , so i get stuck at that, i dont even know the name of my router sigh..

J-Kwon, I realize that your guide is a bit old but I completely disagree with your recommended torrent clients list. At this point in time uTorrent and Azureus are the most popular clients out there with ABC coming in third.

At a private tracker I am at, the following clients have all been banned:

    All versions of BitComet
    All versions of BitLord
    All versions of BitSpirit
    All versions of TorrentStorm
    All versions of Burst
    All versions of BitBuddy
    All versions of Shareaza
    All versions of TurboBT
    All versions of XBT
    All versions of BitTorrent ++
    All versions of eMule
    All versions of BTManager
    All versions of XanTorrent
    All versions of G3
    All versions of eDonkey
    All versions of eXeem
    All versions of NovaTorrent
    Azureus 2.2.0.0

Another tracker I am at is nto quite so strict,
    BitComet
    BitLord
    BitTornado

Are all on the banned list. This seems to be a growing trend on private trackers.

I would recommend uTorrent as it eats far less RAM then Azureus. Of course if you have plenty of system memory to spare, say 60-120K on top of FireFox, Nero, and other programs then go for it.

Hey guys im new to the forums...I posted a thread earlier but its not getting any replies so far...anyways I have a linksys connection so I forwarded all my ports and bit torrent says that the ports are open but my top speed is like 8 kb/s right now. I forwarded to ports 16881-16889 because i heard that the default ports are sometimes blocked. I have gotten past the firewall and bit torrent declares the ports are open but I still have a slow connection. Any thoughts?

Hello, I got a strange situation here, I use BitLord 1.1 on Port 18980 so I did port forwarding and the port is OPEN and had set max upload to 20, everything is ok but I am downloading a movie torrent: 523 S and 600 L, BitLord status:
Trackers: 10 Trackers and all of them return 50 peers.
    Torrent Health: 4532%
I waited 15 min's but the speed made no changed it still 1KB/s.
can anyone tell me what is the problem here?

    Thanks.
