    hey john, have you tried loading brute force from the hdd. i tried it again and again and it always just hang in the loading screen. this is what i did, I placed the game in, went into Xcommander, created a new folder "brute" in F:games\ then copied the all the game files into the folder. after that i restarted the xbox and loaded "brute force" from "Games" then it just shows that brute force loading screen for a few sec and then freezes.

    alright, I read the other posts on upgrading the bios, but I'm still not sure how to do it, what do I choose on the slayer's disk to upgrade my bios. Can I do this with out opening my xbox/reflashing the chip (matrix)? where do I put the bios in the c drive? by the way I want to install X2 4976.02 noani red bios, if that will work with my chip.
    thx

    they came out with a newer version 4977. i flash mine with the programmer because i had a few bad flashes before, besides you still have to open the box to switch it to mode 3, 1-off 2-on. then the chip will flash orange. i didnt use slayers but i know there's a bios folder in the c: drive where you place all your bios in. you flash the chip in the evox menu.

    First of all I suggest that you get the newest bios (4977). Unless you like your xbox resetting everytime you push eject. Second, I assume that you have evox installed on your box so there is no need for Slayer's all slayer's is, is a modified evox. Now, if you don't have a bios folder in your c drive add one. Then make sure that this line is in your .ini file...

    "Flash = 0xbf61,"SST - 49LF020",0x40000" for Matrix/Xodus

    Don't put the for Matrix/Xodus part in though. In case this isn't enough info check out this tutorial...

    alright I get it, but a few things I'm not sure about are, U turn ur xbox on then set the matrix to mode 4 or u set the matrix to 4 then turn on ur xbox, also I heard that all u had to do was write "flash bios @1" instead of "Flash = 0xbf61,"SST - 49LF020",0x40000", I should forget about that?
    thx

    I don't have any experience with Matrix mods. The tutorial worked for me so I suggested it. Sorry.

    Can someone tell what is the best setup on my matrix modchip for the new games out.

    I currently have evox/hddloader1.0/with older bios

    Could someone please send me the latest evox and bios to fivehommels@nc.rr.com.

    Can evox be replaced using ft even though it is running?

    Thanks;
    Steve
