Hi guys, I was wondering whether the M3 comes with any PC-specific software that MUST be used in order to get the most out of it. I have a Mac, and as I assume any accompanying software is Windows-only, I was wondering what I will and won't be able to do if I buy the M3. I can of course drag and drop to an SD card, all that stuff ... I just can't run Windows software. Any help would be appreciated!

Yes it does come with some software. Yes you almost always have to use the software for the games to work.

Can you not use a virtual machine or something similar on your mac?

I'm thinking about buying a DS lite but I had a few questions. The m3 and passkey probably wont work with the ds lite right?

And are there any options for smaller passkey/m3? It's pretty bulky isn't it? Thanks.

you can flash your passkey firmware so it works on ds lite,
you can also flash your ds firmware so you don't need a passkey.
look around for flashme on google.

    1. What can the M3 emulate and how well?
    2. Is it the best device like this on the market right now?
    3. What will I need to make it work on my DS Lite?

I just read the review for the Max Media Launcher ... does anyone have this and what is the BEST passkey for this...

i really want to use ds and gba backups on this ...

i was reading a review on the SuperCard SD review but it was said that there is "slowdown" playing gba games? btw that will hold NDS images correct or no *it didnt specify but i assume gba only considering it fits in the gba slot*...

the one i am looking to buy is the M3 Perfect SD *thanks brakken for the well written review* ... it sounds like that is all i need rite? or will the max media launcher be required..

    thanks

What are you refering to by 'flash linker'?

Do you mean a Flash Cart? or FlashMe? or something else maybe?

'the' flash cart, what flash cart is that?

As for recommendations, i'd say get a M3 MiniSD, I feel the small size of it is the best option for the DS Lite

    Hi!
    A few questions:

How much is cost (aproximatly) to run DS rom and Homebrew game on DS?

What is the maximum capacity for a NDS card?

Getting homebrew running on a DS can be quite expensive:

your best option is to get an M3 or supercard, then a media card for it, and a passkey for it to work in DS mode.

    My setup is as follows:

    M3CF and a Passkey2 from divineo
    http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/dd-ds-m3cfp2
and a 512MB CF card from ebay (was £22 when i got it)
and I have a 1GB card on the way (£26).

The maximum capacity is as high as you can get for SD or CF1 cards which is currently about 4GB.

What i would recommend you to get is the following:

    A M3SD:
    http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/dd-ds-m3sda
    A Passcard:
    http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/dd-ds-pssc
    And a 1GB SD Card:

    and this:

    http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10399506

for my ds lite, do i need anything else, or to flash my ds lite?
my main concern is running GbA but would also want to run my ds backups and maybe play some movies for my daughter, also are the movies formatted in a way for the ds making them very small yet good qaulity? thanks in advance for any feed back
