    Yeah, this Archos player/recorder are not the type of MP3 players that you can run with them. They are little too bulky for you but if you want carry your CD collection on the go, they are darn good products for very little money compare to iPods. I like them because you can upgrade easily. BTW Rockbox OS software which is open source code is lot better than original Archos OS software. If you want to know more about them go check out the www.rockbox.org

    I thought this thread suppose to be non-iPod owners. But enjoy your iPod, it looks real sleek.

    I have an Archos Multimedia Jukebox (yes, I know its old!), but its 20g, plays MP3, MPEG4 videos and acts as and is recognized as a hard drive, so data storage also option. A little too bulky for pocket travel, but perfect for the office. I replaced my Audible Otis with a Motorola M25 - 256MB on board, replaceable NiMH rechargable lasting approx 15 hours each (so NO recharging downtime!!) with SD/MMC slot up to 1g, plays MP3, WMA and Audible formats, Equalizer settings, FM radio reception and the Ear buds that came with are pretty good and very durable (I kill Earbuds!). Very light and easy to use, recognized as hard drive and card reader within XP. Liked it so much I bought another one for backup (as Motorola stopped making them :(

    I have used one of those Archos Multimedia Jukeboxes in the past, as you say, great to double-up & use as a backup HDD.

    I think the iPod is a tad thinner, I'm not sure though

    The vertical scroll pwns the wheel. I love the autohold/scroll.

    BestBuy Stores should now have them in stock and on display. If you get a chance go play with CZV:M.

    Sorry buddy, but I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. Although I am now used to it, I find the vertical scroll on my creative Z-T is to sensitive, even on the lowest-sensitivity setting. Whereas on my iPod, I find it's a lot easier to navigate the interface with the click wheel.

    But I guess, it's a matter of opinion once again ;-)

    Jazo- The Creative Zen Vision:M costs $330. I find the Apple clickwheel easier to use because u don't have to lift ur thumb off the interface like the Creative products. I feel u can scroll through songs way faster.

    Ipod is $270 well for me anyway. Creative is $330. I think i pick the right one.

    um what makes you think that you have to take your thumb off of the creatives? That's like saying you have to take your thumb off the ipod to press the button in the middle.

    You might find the wheel easier but I find it cumbersome. Using your thumb in a circular motion is not very natural. I can't see how scrolling up or down and holding (not pressing) is harder than the wheel?

    If you didn't see it in my first pic the left/right is located on the very edge of the scroll pad. This makes about 85%-90% of the functions done by the twitch of your thumb.

    So now for the same price of an ipod, you get more for your money.
