No problem, Well it looks like the original rip was bad. You will have to rip it again. You know the whole garbage in garbage out thing. Well next time just remember that dvd decrytor can usually make a usable iso out of a disk that shrink cannot handle. With these tools you will be able to make a back-up of a disc in bad condition.
thanks for all your help. i'll try another of my films and if it works, then i'll be able to advise others- won't I ?
DVD Decrypter is most useful if you wnat to backup a legally owned DVD that has RCE protection. Because neither InterVideo nor EB's CloneDVD will copy RCE protected DVD even when AnyDVD or DVD RegionFree is enabled.
Why anyone wants to decrypt to an ISO-image?? It's so much easier to decrypt files -> and open them with DVDShrink. By the way, I use DVD Decrypter to decrypt movie-files, and shrink/copy+burn them with DVDShrink. Only use Decrypt to ISO, burn ISO when copying PS2-games.
I just tried DVD shrink. It does what DVD Decryptor does - crack the RCE protection DVD. It is also able to compress DVD - this DVD Decryptor can't do.
Yep, but if you continue backing up DVDs you WILL come across one that Shrink CANNOT rip, that is when the specialist tools like DVD Decrypter and SmartRipper come into their own. Lots of the "old hands" on the forum will confirm that... Always keep an up-to-date version of both those programs handy. Have Fun....
