That bitrate seems to be ok, unless this is the video bitrate only, and doesn't include the audio. How about menus? If you have motion menus, with high bitrate audio, this can throw it out as well. What is the running time of these vids?
both vids together is 7 hrs and 37 min no, i did not include the audio for each video the bitrate on the first video is 7960 kbps and the audio is 192 kbps the second is 6784 kbps and audio 192 kbps the motion menu is also 192 kbps for audio and video 3067 kbps
hey guys, i really appreciate all the help so far. unfortunately, im on a time limit for this project. so any help would be greatly appreciated! my last post - both vids together is 7 hrs and 37 min no, i did not include the audio for each video the bitrate on the first video is 7960 kbps and the audio is 192 kbps the second is 6784 kbps and audio 192 kbps the motion menu is also 192 kbps for audio and video 3067 kbps
btstephen, Your files are too large it's as simple as that. 27 GB split into two to make around 13gb each. That's ridiculous. I don't know any authoring software that can handle files of that size. I don't know what you are trying to achieve but movies of that size and that running time are not designed for dvd usage. It's as simple as that. Oh and next time try making your own thread rather than hijacking mine. Your problem was absolutely NOTHING like my problem that I outlined. Nothing at all.
davehhh1 my issue is pretty much just like yours i had two movie files joined together, which i made menus for in dvd-lab pro, and wanted to dvd-shrink my project after compiling it to fit it on a regular dvd-r. once i compiled, the second half of the dvd was not working the way it should. id say its pretty damn close to your issue. the only difference is my videos were 27 gig. i thought maybe i could skip encoding it to save time/quality. excuse me for being new to this and trying to find answers. thats what the message board is for. bumhole. thanks rebootjim for all your help.
i thought i would put my two cents worth in the ring... I believe that an authoring software is limited on how many _TS files it can make. I thought I read that somewhere... and since most authoring programs split video into 1GB segments, it's possible you exceeded the _TS limit with a 27GB movie. Your authored content may not be able to link to itself, and therefore stops working at it's limit. Try putting each movie into it's own VTS line within DVDLab Pro. I don't know if this will work, but I just scanned the help file for any clues and that's about all i could come up with. Also, if your movies are different frame rates (ie, 3:2Pulldown, Interlace) then they won't work together in the same VTS line. You will have to separate them. I think....
