Does anyone know why the subtitle disappear from time to time? Then, I have to press REW, then SLOW and the subtitle appears again! It is quite annoying... And, another thing: some movies are played like frame by frame (the motion is not continuous)! Some help?
@felippe I think it's something you just have to live with! Refer to my earlier note where the subtitle has to 'catch up' with the film footage. It can be quite annoying, especially if you want to deliberately fast forward a scene.
@bob364860 There is a website with loads of subs but I'm visiting a friend in London and so am away from my PC and the site is in my favourites. I will post address as soon as I get back. I'm not sure when that will be yet since I didn't actually plan to go to London but was drunk and get a lift down there by another friend. Beer is a wicked mistress.

hi all, does anybody know when support for ogg vorbis audio is coming? i have a bunch of xvid files that wont play because there ogg.

Hi, when loading an xvid into MPEG4 modifier it displays an error "No dummy N-VOP found for packed frame", in GSpot it shows as an Xvid pbs+bvop+nvop. any help appreciated cheers Martin

I have 1.2 of mpeg mod which I think is the latest ver. The xvid's are a series (Desperate Wives) so re-encode feels like a pain I should have a 6700 arriving tomorrow so that may be the answer as it supports packed BS still curious though as to the cause of the error. As an aside just bought a 6700 for £42 inc vat from Pixmania (4 of us purchased so that split the delivery and even made that reasonable!) cheers Martin
to reply to myself...strange behaviour I know! just downloaded 1.3.1 of mpeg mod from http://www.moitah.net which has relaxed the error checking so no more "No dummy N-VOP found for packed frame" errors and at last, a progress bar for loading & saving!
Been reading this thread because I have a Yamada 6600 with jerky playback. How can I correct this please? I have read the entire thread but I am having trouble following the above solution as there are a number of conversations appearing at once. Can someone advise me please in a straight forward manner? I will be ever so greatful.
@CheersMDM The problem with your xvids is probably that they have packed bistream. The yamada 6600 can play divx+packed bistream+GMC+qpel, with xvid however it can only do xvid+qpel, not xvid+packed bitstream. If the bitstream is not packed then the audio is off by 1 frame, so for PAL then 25 frames per sec so off by 40 msec. Not something that mere mortals are affected by. So the jittering with newer xvid is the yamada trying to play packed bitstream. The solution is to remove the packed bistream with Mpeg4modifier. Found the firmware with the updated audio setup. It's version 13. I had downloaded version 12. 13 wasn't on the site when I downloaded it, hence the confusion. Regards to all, johntee50.
Fish, there still isn't any new firmware to correct the "border" problems with the naruto episodes I have. I still have to watch those episodes half screen because I can't see the subs. I owned a Kiss DP 1000 UMAX player before the yamada 6600 and it had this cool zoom feature where u could zoom until there was a thin black border around the screen but you had virtually perfect full screen and could see the full picture perfectly. But the Kiss Player also stretched the naruto episodes so I couldn't see the subs, but like I said, at least it had a Brilliant Zoom feature that I could adjust the picture to fit nicley onto the screen. Shit Fish, as soon as they fix this problem or make better zoom features, PLEASE let me know, I want to watch my stuff normally again. Thanks Fish, u r the BEST. Laters Foxi
